In 1982, Key West seceded from the United States over a Border Patrol roadblock. The island declared war, surrendered about a minute later, and asked for a billion dollars in foreign aid. The Conch Republic has been flying its flag ever since.
This tee puts that flag on the mast of the Schooner Western Union, the 1939 Key West schooner that started out laying telegraph cable and now carries sunset sailors past the harbor. Full sails, open water, and a flag stamped 1828 for the year the island became a city. Island independence, printed front and center.
